Service

The Kiwanis Family of Charles Town, WV is involved in a number of service activities within our community. From informing others about important issues to raising funds for various charities, you can see our thumbprint almost everywhere you look. Please take a minute to learn about some of the ways that we’ve been helping out in Charles Town and beyond.

The Kiwanis Club and K-Kids of Charles Town, WV participated in the Charles Town Christmas Parade with a float and by signing the words to “Silent Night” while marching. We hope to raise public awareness of deaf issues, people, and culture.

Santa’s Toy shop is an annual effort to provide the less fortunate families and children of the Charles Town community with Christmas gifts to help brighten their outlook. In 2015, we serviced 198 families and 434 children. Help us make 2016 even more wonderful!

The Kiwanis Club of Charles Town participates in the Jefferson County Haunted Fairgrounds each year to raise money for our annual Santa’s Toy Shop fund. In 2015, we raised $6100 during the event!

The National Education Association’s Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.
